We are pleased to welcome
you to one of the most modern dental care facilities in the
Midwest – a comprehensive family dental practice committed
to providing exceptional care with a gentle touch.
From cosmetic dentistry, to non-surgical gum treatment, our
leading-edge services are designed to make it easier than
ever for you to have that smile you’ve always wanted. |
|
Leading Edge Technology
Dentistry is a rapidly changing field.
Researchers are constantly looking for ways to diagnose more
effectively and treat more comfortably. These are some of
the leading edge technologies we are proud to provide.
|
|
• All digital
diagnostics
All-digital diagnostic technology offers
patients two fundamental benefits. First of all, our state-of-the-art
imaging systems involve significantly less radiation than
traditional x-rays, which means they are exceptionally safe.
What’s more, these imaging systems provide greater clarity
and detail than ever before, so we can perform more definitive
evaluations of your teeth and gum tissues. This allows us
to detect and treat conditions earlier, before they can develop
into more serious and more costly situations. Best of all,
because these images can be called up on the monitors located
in each of our care suites, we can help you get a better understanding
of the condition of your teeth and gums. The ability to see
x-rays as well as photographic images of your teeth and gums
also makes it easier for you to review the various treatment
options available to you. |

Laser Dentistry
Our innovative Waterlase laser can
replace the drill in many instances. Because there is no heat
or vibration, it reduces the need for anesthesia. As a result,
you could say goodbye to needles and that post-treatment numbness
for many procedures.
The laser is a viable option for many procedures… from
fillings to root canals. It’s part of our ongoing commitment
to constantly look for ways to treat patients comfortably
and offer patients choices in their treatment plans. For more
information, visit Waterlase. |
 |
•Invisalign
Invisalign® is an innovative teeth-straightening
system that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to
gradually reposition teeth. Because the aligners are virtually
invisible once they are in place, you can smile with confidence…
knowing that friends, family and co-workers won’t even
know you are wearing them.
Invisalign® has been proven effective
in clinical research and practices across the country, making
it a convenient and unobtrusive way to get that smile you’ve
always wanted.
Antisdel Dental is proud to be one of the first certified
Invisalign practices in the North Shore area. So if you are
interested in straightening your teeth but haven’t wanted
to deal with wire braces, be sure to ask us about Invisalign®.
For more information visit Invisalign.

 |
•Sedation Dentistry
This service is specially developed
for those patients who are apprehensive about visiting the
dentist. It involves taking a prescribed sedative prior to
the dental visit along with additional medication during the
procedure.
There’s no anxiety and usually no memory of the appointment.
Sedation dentistry also makes it possible for patients to
get more work done at one time, minimizing the total number
of visits required.
So if dental procedures make you uneasy, be sure to ask us
if sedation dentistry would be right for you. |
|
Cosmetic Dentistry
One of the most rapidly expanding segments
of our field is cosmetic dentistry. In the past five years,
the advancements in cosmetic dentistry have been nothing short
of remarkable. You need only tune-in to the ABC television
show Extreme Makeover to see just what is possible these days.
Because we employ many of the same techniques and technologies
featured on that program, we can make it easier than ever
for you to get that picture-perfect smile you’ve always
wanted.
|
|
• Zoom!™
In-Office Whitening
Zoom is the same procedure used on
the hit TV show Extreme Makeover to brighten teeth quickly,
safely and reliably.
This revolutionary system utilizes a unique whitening gel
and a specially designed light to whiten teeth dramatically
in just over an hour. Teeth typically become at least six
to ten shades whiter. In fact, we have seen patients go up
11 shades and off of the shade guide scale in terms of whiteness.
You’ll be amazed at what an hour can mean to your smile.
Best of all, with proper care and an occasional touch-up at
home, your whiter smile can sparkle for years. For more information
visit Zoom. |

• Crowns &
Bridges
Crowns and bridges are permanent solutions
to improving the appearance of damaged or missing teeth. Crowns
are produced for individual, existing teeth that need structural
and/or cosmetic improvement. Bridges are essentially a series
of crowns fused together to replace a missing tooth, while
anchoring the additional tooth to adjacent teeth. In both
cases, the material can be color-matched to the rest of your
teeth to create a natural, pleasing appearance. |
|
• Bonding &
Contouring
These treatments are designed to quickly
improve the overall appearance of otherwise healthy teeth.
Bonding involves adding tooth-colored material to the exterior
of teeth, typically to help fill gaps and create a more symmetric
smile, while eliminating pockets that can trap food particles
and contribute to accelerated tooth decay.
Contouring involves the reshaping of teeth to improve esthetics
and often times improve tooth mesh for a more comfortable
bite.
Both treatments are long-lasting, cost-effective and generally
painless solutions, which offer immediate results –
usually with no anesthetic required |
 |
• Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are porcelain shells that
are bonded to the front of teeth to correct color, spacing,
chipping and many other cosmetic problems. With veneers, you
may be only two appointments away from beautiful white teeth. |
 |
Migraine,
tension headache, and TMJ care
Most head and neck pain is either caused
by, or triggered by night-time habits, such as clenching and
grinding of the teeth. Regardless of the cause of your head
or neck pain (migraines, tension, sinus pain, whiplash, jaw
joint and facial pain), elimination of night-time habits can
significantly reduce your pain.
We are proud to be trained providers of an innovative device
called the NTI, which has been FDA approved for the prevention
of migraines. It can also help tension headaches, sore jaw,
stiff neck and sensitive teeth. Medical research on the NTI
showed that 82% of migraine sufferers had a 77% average reduction
in migraine incidents.
***(Read an
actual NTI testimonial here.)
Many patients come to us after years of seeing multiple specialists
and trying every medication on the market with little relief
from their pain. Often, the NTI provides the first relief
they’ve experienced. For more information visit HeadachePrevention.

Orthodontics
Antisdel Dental offers complete orthodontic
services for both children and adults.
While these services typically involve a major time commitment,
they can enhance tooth spacing and bite mesh, providing a
lifetime of benefits in terms of comfort, appearance and overall
oral health.
|
|
• Wire Orthodontics
Conventional wire braces are the treatment
of choice for children. Using wire braces and removeable appliances,
we can help direct the growth of the jaws and perfect the
arrangement of the teeth as well as the bite. |
|
• Invisalign®
Invisalign® is an innovative teeth-straightening
system that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to
gradually reposition teeth. Because the aligners are virtually
invisible once they are in place, you can smile with confidence…
knowing that friends, family and co-workers won’t even
know you are wearing them.
Invisalign® is usually faster than conventional orthodontics,
most cases taking only 12-18 months.
Invisalign® has been proven effective in clinical research
and practices across the country, making it a convenient and
unobtrusive way to get that smile you’ve always wanted.
Antisdel Dental is proud to be one of the first certified
Invisalign practices in the North Shore area. So if you are
interested in straightening your teeth but haven’t wanted
to deal with wire braces, be sure to ask us about Invisalign®.

Hygiene
& Periodontal Therapy
Our hygiene department is a very important
part of our practice. It is our hygienists who help you protect
the foundation that supports your teeth. They keep abreast
of the latest technology for your health and comfort.
|
|
• Cleanings
Regular cleanings are a cornerstone
of long-term dental health. Seeing your hygienist on a regular
basis should be as much a part of your oral health regimen
as brushing and flossing.
In case you haven’t checked in with us lately, fluoride
treatments have come a long way. Today, flavors such as berry,
mint and piña colada just might have you looking forward
to your next cleaning. |
|
• Treatment for
periodontal (gum) disease
Periodontal disease is a chronic infection
of the gums and bone that hold your teeth in place. Left untreated,
this can lead to tooth loss and can also contribute to the
development of heart disease and other systemic conditions.
Treatment involves eliminating the source of the infection
by removing plaque, tartar, and bacterial toxins from the
root surfaces of the teeth below the gumline. This is called
scaling and root planing. To keep you comfortable, we usually
numb the area before treatment. A special antibiotic called
Arestin is then placed in the deeper pockets. Arestin uses
microsphere technology to gradually release the antibiotic
over 14 days, allowing the gums to heal.
Our hygienist will also spend time with you, helping you fine-tune
your homecare efforts. |
 |
•
The Full Body Connection
Did you know that up to 90 percent
of all systemic diseases have links to oral health?
Research has shown that poor oral health can contribute to
the development of heart disease and stroke. People who have
periodontal (gum) disease double their risk of a fatal heart
attack. Diabetics with periodontal disease have more difficulty
controlling their blood sugar.
Infections in the mouth increase the risk
of respiratory infection. Gum disease can make you more susceptible
to bronchitis, pneumonia, emphysema, and chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease.
For pregnant women, periodontal disease can pose a risk to
the health of the baby, increasing the likelihood of having
a pre-term low-birth- weight baby.
Most people are unaware of the fact that the bacteria that
cause periodontal disease can be spread through close contact
among families. So to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy,
get regular dental check-ups and treat oral infection promptly. |
 |
Oral Exams
Oral exams are a fundamental component
of a sound overall personal health maintenance program.
Certainly catching tooth and gum problems early is a good
reason to schedule routine semi-annual check-ups.
What you may not be aware of is the fact that proper inspection
of the mouth, teeth and gums can provide early indicators
of more than 140 conditions affecting the human body…
from heart and lung disease to cancer. This is why an oral
examination should be a routine part of your overall wellbeing
program.
|
|
• Bite & TMJ
Screenings
Recurring neck or jaw pain could be
the result of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems.
By checking the alignment and movement of this joint and associated
muscles, we can determine whether you have TMJ syndrome, and
if so, how severe that it is.
Depending on the severity of the condition, we can inform
you of what treatment options are available to you, in order
to alleviate the pain and prevent future occurrences. |
|
• Periodontal
exams
Your gums are crucial to the health
of your teeth. Unhealthy gum tissue can result in bone loss,
which could result in loose or lost teeth. If left untreated,
periodontal disease can lead to even more serious conditions,
including heart disease.
By taking specific measurements of tissue around each tooth,
we can determine whether your gums are healthy, need some
additional attention to return them to a healthy state or
require more advanced treatment.
Persistent bad breath and bleeding gums are common indications
of gum disease. Fortunately, we have innovative treatments
available today that are generating dramatic improvements
of even severely damaged gum tissue.
Routine check-ups can help avoid these problems. However,
if you are experiencing these symptoms, don’t wait for
your next scheduled visit. Call for an appointment immediately.
The sooner we can see you, the easier it will be to get your
gums back in peak condition. |
|
• Orthodontic
exams
We can evaluate tooth positioning
and bite alignment to determine whether orthodontic treatment
could improve the esthetics of your smile as well as the functionality,
longevity and comfort of your bite. |
|
• Oral cancer
exams
An examination of the soft tissue
of the mouth, including the tongue, can help us identify possible
signs of oral cancer. This service is one more way our life-long
approach to dentistry can contribute to your long-term health
and wellbeing. |
|
General Dentistry
Our broad range of services and commitment
to ongoing education assure that you can turn to a single,
trusted resource to provide leading-edge care for virtually
all your general dental care needs.
|
|
• Tooth-colored
restorations
There was a time when the whole world
could tell how many fillings you had every time you opened
your mouth. But that’s not the case any more. Tooth-colored
restorations are practically invisible to the naked eye. Better
still they contain no mercury which is a major component of
the old amalgam (silver) fillings. In addition, they help
secure your teeth better by bonding to tooth structure, providing
greater protection against any further possible damage.
If you want to brighten up your smile, replacing old fillings
with tooth-colored restorations should be part of your overall
treatment plan. |
 |
• Crowns &
Bridges
Crowns are permanent solutions for
chipped, broken, badly damaged or missing teeth. They are
produced for individual, existing teeth that need structural
and/or cosmetic improvement.
Bridges are essentially a series of crowns fused together
to replace a missing tooth or gap, while anchoring the additional
tooth to adjacent teeth.
In both cases, the material can be color-matched to the rest
of your teeth to create a natural, pleasing appearance. |

|
• Implants
Implants are replacements for the
roots of missing teeth. We then can place crowns or bridges
on the implants, or use the implants to stabilize dentures. |

|
• Partials &
Dentures
Partials and dentures are removable
appliances that are used in those instances where crowns and
bridges are impractical. For example, if you are missing multiple
teeth or they need to be extracted, there may be no way to
anchor a bridge, which makes a partial or implants necessary.
Or if your entire upper or lower set of teeth are missing
or need to be removed, dentures or implants become the logical
solution. |

 |
• Root canals
Many times, when a tooth is badly
damaged, a root canal represents a viable alternative to more
extensive procedures such as an extraction and a bridge. The
root canal serves as a way to eliminate or prevent ongoing
tooth pain or sensitivity, while allowing you to keep your
original teeth for as long as possible. With proper antibiotic
treatment and modern anesthetic techniques, a root canal need
not be the unpleasant experience it was years ago. |
 |
• Extractions
Typically, many practices refer you
to an oral surgeon for extractions. Fortunately, we have the
resources and experience to handle most extractions on site,
in the comforting surroundings and capable hands so familar
to our patients. |

Happy
Visits for kids
Happy Visits are complimentary get-acquainted
sessions designed to assure that your child’s first
trip to the dentist is a positive experience.
Kids not only get introduced to some of our basic instruments,
such as Mr. Thirsty (our high-powered suction system) and
the squirt gun (our air/water syringes)… they get to
play with them. In addition, they get to take the dentist’s
chair for a ride, so they can see how it moves up and down
and front to back. They even get a pair of gloves and a dental
mask to take home with them.
It’s a great way to acclimate kids to the environment,
so future appointments are a breeze for them…and you.
